Project: Yangchen - Ghatsal School (temple for knowledge) in Jispa

The motive:

1994 His Holiness the Dalai Lama visited Jispa and inaugurated there the newly build temple. On departing he gave 300,000 rupees for the construction of a school. In this way the state India was put under an obligation to contribute the threefold amount (900,000 rupees). The inhabitants also collected money and started 1997 the building. Unfortunately, the construction had to be stopped because of lack of money

The school is a L - shaped building

The two-storey, L-shaped building, constructed from reinforced concrete, is 25,8 m long and 16,15 m / 10,2 m wide, amounting to 275 square m floor space per floor.

Action plan: This year, the "Förderverein Children of Himalaya e.V." will finance the completion of the ground floor, as well as windows for the first floor, plaster work and the sewage plant. The roof is to be completed in 2003.
